Back on the blog. I could be wrong but it helps my accountability, even if it just me being accountable to myself. I do want to run a couple of halfs again this summer. Hoping to cut a few minutes off of my time. Truly more important is the opportunity to be out doing what is healthy and brings my family together!

3 miles on the treadmill. 3% grade for first 2.5 mi at  6.7 speed.  Ran last half at 2% grade and increased speed finishing at 8.3. Did one last loop at speed 5 times cool down. Really going to be quite a road building back up my endurance but feeling the motivation to get r done!!

Got 1.3 mi before feeling fatigued. Not much for most runners but better then where I started last year and completely my fault for letting it get down that far! Embarrassed to admit but this blog is about putting it out there, right!?!

Right now I am looking at the Salt Lake Half Marathin on April 18th.

90 minutes of 4 on 4 volleyball. More laughing then exercise but super fun for my XT day. I am sure they are probably thinking something with a little more cardio involvement when they set up their training plans, but this was fun and my first week. Hope it works!

Started working on better eating today as well. Honestly counting calories is what works best for me, so not the healthiest of eating but stayed under on calories drank a liter of water and still got a chocolate covered doughnut. Woop woop!!

2 miles on the treadmill this morning. Legs feeling kind of heavy today. So only had incline at 2%. Ran 1.5 at 6.7 speed and next lap at 7.3 then last lap at 8.0.  Feeling a little discouraged at how winded and heavy I felt running. Just have to remember it is my first week back. And truly the saying is true: it isn't so hard to come back if you hadn't quit in the first place. This is all on me.

4 miles on the treadmill. 3% grade for 3.25 then down to a 2% grade for last 3/4 of a mo. Ran at a 6.5 and 6.6 for 3.25, up to 7.3 for .25, 7.6 for next .25 then up to 8.1 for last quarter. Ran .15 cool down at 5 speed. Excited to get this longer run in! Was trying to decide if I was going to start in week 3 or 4 of my training plan. This run today made the decision! Week 4 it is!! I felt great running. Obviously due to my lack of training I was tired but was able to complete this and felt good. Ran it in 36:02. Just over 9 minute miles. Pleased with this. I want to run under 2 hours for my half marathon this summer. So this pace will just about put me there. I need to make sure I am pushing myself a little bit on time this year. I want to enjoy the running and not burn myself out but try a little bit harder to push myself and not just give up. 15 weeks until race time. I am feeling good right now!

3 miles in 26:58.  3% incline for first 2.25 then down to a 2% for the finish. Supposed to be a recovery run walk, but just felt good to go.  I keep thinking about my training from last year. I hope to be more committed to every day. I would frequently skip the recovery run and just rest. I hope that I can stay committed and do better on raceday. I love how a positive attitude of running makes my girls want to run and love to run on their pretend treadmills. So dang cute. Husband ran outside today. I am not tough enough. Haha.
